The Basilisk Cake

One of my favorites. The theme of Tristan’s 10th birthday was Harry Potter. For this cake, I thought it would be fun to create the Basilisk. The shape, the texture and the coloring were all very challenging, but the result satisfying. The body is cake, the neck was rice crispy treat, and the covering marzipan. The kids at the party quickly finished the cake part but were particularly enthusiastic about the crispy treat.
