The Under the Sea Cake

Another of my favorites. When Tristan was turning 6, she wanted to go to the aquarium for her birthday. I made this under the sea-themed cake like a coral reef. I had seen a reef in an aquarium in San Diego and was amazed by its vertical orientation. This reef was made out of cupcakes so each kid could pick one up easily. It is decorated with colorful fish sculpted out of marzipan. Again, every kid could pick a fish. The octopus was a useful candle holder.
